Inventor

Since 1990, Goheen has enjoyed the pursuit of technology invention and design. Goheen’s first project resulted in a patent with the United States Patent Office concerning Electronic Ticketing in the airline industry in particular, and the travel industry in general. According to critical acclaim, Goheen is recognized as the Inventor of Electronic Ticketing in the Airline Industry, an industry where global electronic ticket sales in 2019 (the industry standard) accounted for over US $700 Billion. This technology was named AirCard.

In 1995, Goheen began the development of the Trans Via Card, an Electronic Contract Card that was designed for use at specific points-of-travel such as hotels and car rental locations. By 1997, Goheen’s Trans Via technology was endorsed by Canada’s major car rental associations, the world’s largest independent reservation system, and Canada’s largest insurance brokerage firm.

The Trans Via Card was much more than a point-of-sale tool: it was designed to also act as an eWallet, wherein all of the Traveller’s credit cards and relevant personal information could be verified when the card was swiped at travel merchant locations. In many ways, this technology was ahead of its time, later evolving into a much broader personal information and financial account management tool. This revised technology was named SecurXX. As recently as 2023, almost all of the technological advances, security measures, and conveniences that are inherent in the SecurXX technology are utilized in the credit card services offered at financial institutions globally.
